William P. Harrie

Born April 10, 1960 in Grand Forks, North Dakota

Bill is a member of the Litigation department, and his practice has focused primarily on insurance defense work, both in insurance coverage disputes and in defense of third-party liability claims and tort and personal injury matters. Bill also provides legal assistance regarding adoptions. Bill has handled a number of jury trials and court trials in both state and federal court in North Dakota and Minnesota and has handled numerous appeals before the North Dakota Supreme Court, the Minnesota Supreme Court and Court of Appeals and the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Bill joined the Nilles Law Firm in 1986 after graduating with distinction from the University of North Dakota Law School. Bill received his undergraduate degree in business administration in 1982 at the University of North Dakota. He obtained his law degree from the University of North Dakota in 1986 and was Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers and articles editor of the Law Review. Bill is a member of the Defense Research Institute, is the current secretary of the North Dakota Defense Lawyers Association and is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars focusing on insurance and litigation related issues.
